Waihana Goliath Series Dive Suit – 60 Second Review

Today we have the Waihana 5.5 Goliath series, freedive spearfishing wetsuit. I’ve been testing these the last couple days in the Sea Cortez down here in Baja. The water temp’s been super cold—66 degrees—maximum but the suit’s been keeping me nice and warm.

We really like the camo on this suit. A few other nice features that I actually used today…it has this SOS whistle. I was being violated by about a thousand sea lion pups today. I got bit on the calf. Thankfully the closed sail material has really nice structure and durability. It didn’t penetrate the skin. It was actually kind of a scary moment if I’m gonna be honest.

So we’ll survive that, got back in the Panga and on to shooting some fish. Here’s the pants section. This is what the open sail material looks like. Really easy to get in and out of. Very comfortable on the skin.

All in all really great wetsuit. Very happy with it and if you’re not comfortable then you’re not enjoying yourself out in the water. You’re not diving well. If you are comfortable it changes your whole experience. So get a wetsuit that fits well. Get a wetsuit that lasts. So far this is doing the trick. This is the Waihana 5.5 mil Goliath series.
