Questions by not-so-anonymous Instagram users. Answers by Jason Vincent.
Our Instagram Sunday Q&A is a weekly—or semiweekly depending on JV’s mood that day—chance for you to interact with our team directly. Ask whatever you like, insult us if you please, just don’t go crying about it when JV puts you in your place.
For those of you who are not completely inept, your answers will be swift and educational, leading you to knowledge akin to that of the ancient philosophers who helped drive our species from the Stone Age to modernity. That last part may not be true, but we sure as hell will give you our opinion and help you with whatever problems need solving.
We decided to post these Q&As here so those who had something better to do than look at Instagram on a Sunday afternoon or are dedicated to their craft and actually work Monday morning, can revel in the glory and enjoy some much-needed humor, quality product recommendations, and possible links to Schoby’s Onlyfans page.
*If you are assigned laps, these are not optional—all laps are mandatory and need to be filmed and sent to the Field Ethos Instagram account upon completion. Lap distance is arbitrary, only you know the full weight of your stupidity. Go the distance that feels right.
Enjoy.
Q: How early is too early to get into local beers while on vacation?
A: This being the first question is not encouraging. It’s beer. You’re on vacation. We suggest pre-breakfast.
Take 7 laps.
Q: Can we please get a tan Field Ethos hat (The one with the FE logo)?
A: Best we can do is the khaki safety third hat.
Q: .450/400 or /470 NE for a first double rifle. Mainly for buffalo.
A: .500 Nitro Express.
Q: Is the PDP F series the best option for the wife?
A: Yes, it’s a great option for anyone wanting to conceal carry a compact 9mm. Walther PDP F.
Q: What are your views on the NAA .22 Magnum as an EDC.
A: It’s almost worthless unless you’re within spitting distance.
Q: Gunweks Accountant, thoughts? And can we get that case for the Rhodie .22 LR?
A: The Gunwerks Accountant is very cool as a James Bond-type of collector’s gun.
And no, we’re not doing a briefcase for the Rhodie .22 with Volquartsen and Grey Birch Manufacturing.

Q: Once they clone the mammoth, can we expect an Outrider adventure to Mother Russia?
A: For them to reach real trophy maturity they’ll need about 40-60 years. If I’m lucky enough to have a grandson one day, I’ll leave him my .500 Nitro Express and some very specific instructions.
Q: Recommended budget-friendly bow setup?
A: This is not a good question. Lap.
Q: Good watch winder? Keep in mind I’m on a Seiko watch budget.
A: Get a cheap one from Amazon.
Q: The Working Man’s Adventure Rifle…Future FE offering or follow the recipe?
A: Looks like it will be a follow-the-recipe build for now.
Q: Is it worth getting a shoulder holster for my Kahr K9?
A: It’s always worth getting a shoulder holster.
Miami Rig from Galco Holsters.
Q: Prayed up—pit lit—natural light—kids running around the yard—FE Questions: Perfect Sunday?
A: Solid Sunday.
Q: Good tripod/mounting system for an 8.6 subsonic fix hunting pigs and whitetail?

A: When you’re 12.
Q: Are more sizes in Rhodie Zenith Shorts coming in soon?
A: Nope. Working on a V2.

Q: Thoughts on Seiko mods?

A: Done. Give us a few weeks.
Q: Any experience with Darton Bows?

Lap.

A: It’s a much longer list than that, but you’re off to a good start. Anything fun is enhanced with an ice-cold unit. Same with things that are not fun.
Q: For the kiddo (9-year-old daughter) starter deer rifle, 7mm-08 or 6.5 Creedmoor?
A: 6.5 Creedmoor with a silencer. The silencer is a game changer for teaching young shooters.

A: They have an Air Force now? It’s always something new with these bastards.
Q: Fiancé got me a Garmin aviation watch. Love it for my first watch. (Pilot, yes…)
A: This is how the whole fiancé watch thing is supposed to work. There’s someone you should talk to.
Q: Should I write and submit an anti-bowhunting article? I think yes.
A: Yes. It only needs to be about four sentences.
Q: Recommended ANR in-ear protection? Currently using surefire passive.
A: No idea what ANR stands for, but Schoby and I just got SoundGear custom in-ear hearing protection and they’re very awesome.
