As most of you can imagine, with my role as Sensei of Things and Such, I get a lot of gear from friends in the industry to test and evaluate for our Field Ethos family. Most of it’s planned out in advance so I can fit it into the schedule. So when a box showed up out of the blue from our friends at Condition 1, it caught me off guard. It was too small to be a rifle case, and I wasn’t aware of any new products on the horizon.
Sometimes things just line up right. The same week that box showed up, I had just picked up a new Tacoma and was knee-deep into researching storage options for my little rig. Most setups I found used some sort of Molle panel system. So you can imagine my surprise when I opened that mystery box to find the new Lone Star 2 Pistol Bag — complete with a Molle mounting system that fits perfectly on my seatback panel. It keeps a couple of pistols close at hand, organized, and protected.
Condition 1 Lone Star 2 Pistol Bag Features
Let me break down this sweet little package from Condition 1, handmade right here in the great state of Texas. The case is built from durable 1000D PU-coated Cordura — tough enough to handle whatever you and a hard range session can throw at it. Lockable YKK zippers give a little security and allow the case to lay fully open and flat. Inside you’ll find two padded pistol pockets with hook-and-loop closures and eight slots for magazines or other essentials. I keep a small Surefire light, pocket knife, and a tube of Gun Butter in mine to keep the pistols running smoothly. The back of the case is fitted with Molle webbing, making for a clean attachment point behind the seat — but it can also mount easily to a soft rifle case when I’m hauling multiple toys to the range. Overall size comes in at a convenient 9x4x11.5 inches.
As the Lone Star 2 sits next to me now, it’s holding my small EDC SIG 365 with three mags, the Nighthawk Double Agent with two mags, a flashlight, gun lube, knife, ear pro, and a couple boxes of ammo. Everything in one spot, tidy and ready to roll.

Cons
• Space – If you run over-the-ear muffs like Walkers, they probably won’t fit inside.
• Size – It might be a tight fit for some larger pistols with big optics or comps.

The Lone Star 2 hit my bench at just the right time, and it’s earned a permanent spot in the new Tacoma. It’s one of those rare pieces of kit that actually solves a problem without creating two more. Compact, tough, and built by folks who understand what “field use” really means. If you’re looking for a simple, bomb-proof way to keep your handguns organized and within reach — at the range or on the road — the Lone Star 2 deserves a spot in your setup.
